This past weekend was a family affair as our youngest daughter’s now fiancee planned a photographed proposal at Sapphire Point in Breckenridge, Colorado. He’d planned a getaway weekend with our daughter, Haley, to celebrate his birthday. He planned the weekend, covertly arranging for my hubby and me to be there and for me to photograph the event. He then stepped up to the task and asked for our daughter’s hand in marriage.
Connor is a wonderful man to our daughter and a great father to Miss Mila. We will welcome him into our family with open arms and open hearts.
Hubby and I arrived early to hike up the short loop to where he planned to propose. The chosen location had a lot of open space so I was farther away than I’d wanted to be. Then Connor positioned them on the far side of the picnic tables…in his defense, he didn’t know where I was hiding (which means I succeeded in not being spotted!) It forced me to move quickly to capture their once in a lifetime moment, which was a bit tricky with the snow and my poor choice of footwear. It was a given that I’d sacrifice ‘the shot’ before the surprise. Had I been a hired photographer, I could have been one of the other hikers on the trail that day, but, alas, being the mother of the future bride, made it a bit more challenging.
It was a beautiful day, and a beautiful moment. Oh, and she said YES!

Popping the question!
She said Yes!
Can’t wait to take their engagement pictures this summer. They are planning a September 2018 wedding. Let the wedding planning commence!
Congratulations, Haley and Connor! We love you!
